We have a number of rules and regulations to ensure all anglers exercise the greatest possible care of fish. Carp care is paramount.
(a) Anglers are not allowed to leave their baited rods unattended. If a swim if fished by a single angler, and the angler must leave the swim for whatever reason, all baited rods must be wound-in. It is not acceptable to leave rods under the control of neighbouring anglers except for very short periods of time. Wound-in rods must not be left unattended without the hookbait being removed.
(b) Once netted, fish must be manipulated over the metal grid in front of the swim. Do not net or take the fish out of the water except in designated areas.
(c) When removing the fish from the water, anglers must break down their landing net and transfer the fish in a weigh sling. For safety reasons, the fish can only be taken out of the water in a weigh sling. Fish must never be lifted from the water in the landing net.
(d) To protect the fish, unhooking mats must be half filled with water at the very minimum.
(e) Any fish suspected to be over 25kg must not be removed from the water without the bailiff being present. All fish over 20kg must be reported to the bailiff immediately by telephone or text message. Bailiffs can be notified at all times, day or night. The fish must be kept in the water (either in a landing net or a weigh sling) until the bailiff arrives.
(f) Weighing and photographing carp over 20kg is only allowed in the presence of a bailiff.
(g) During the hot season (from June to September) all carp over 20kg must be photographed in the water. Each swim will have designated areas for that purpose.
(h) Carp over 25kg must must be photographed in the water at all times.
(i) Under NO circumstance should any fish be held in a sack. Sacking fish is not permitted, and sacks must not be brought onto the site. Anyone caught with a sacked fish will be asked to leave the fishery immediately.
(j) The baliffs will provide anglers with carp care kits free of charge. The carp care kits must be used for all captures.
